Toulouse, prefecture of the Haute-Garonne department and France's fourth largest city, hosts a Muslim community established over several generations. The city and its inner suburbs gather around ten places of worship, from a large flagship venue to smaller neighbourhood halls.

Where to find a mosque in Toulouse

The main halls sit south and west of the Garonne river, in the Empalot, Mirail, Reynerie and Bellefontaine districts. The Grand Mosque of Toulouse, in the Empalot neighbourhood, is the city's largest Muslim place of worship. To the north, in the Minimes sector, Tawhid Mosque serves a wide catchment. Each neighbourhood has its local mosque, all open for the five daily prayers and Friday prayer.

Public transport access

The Tisséo network covers the whole commune with two metro lines (A and B), two tram lines (T1 towards Blagnac, T2 towards the airport) and a dense bus grid complemented by the Linéo express lines. Toulouse-Matabiau station, north of the historic centre, welcomes high-speed trains from Paris, Bordeaux, Marseille and Barcelona, along with regional TER services across Occitanie. Mosques in Mirail, Reynerie and Bellefontaine are reachable by metro line A, and the Empalot mosque by line B.

Toulouse sits within a dense urban area that includes Colomiers to the west, Blagnac to the north-west, Balma to the east and Ramonville-Saint-Agne to the south.
