Hautepierre Mosque lies in the Hautepierre district, in the west of Strasbourg. It is an important prayer venue for residents of Hautepierre and the neighbouring parts of Cronenbourg and Koenigshoffen. It holds the five daily prayers and Friday prayer.

Getting there

Hautepierre Maillon and Dante tram stops, on line A, frame the district. From Strasbourg central station, line A reaches Hautepierre in about fifteen minutes. CTS buses 2, 4 and 19 complete the network. By car, the A351 Hautepierre exit leads directly into the district, and several public car parks are available nearby.

The neighbourhood

Hautepierre is a large 1970s district built around its hexagonal grid plan, with its housing blocks, schools, sports facilities and the Auchan shopping centre. The new Hautepierre hospital and the Zénith concert hall are a few minutes away. Halal shops, butchers and oriental grocers are numerous along Avenue Racine, Rue Baden Powell and inside the shopping centre. Parc des Poteries offers a green space enjoyed by families.

Practical advice for a visit

The hall is suited to neighbourhood life. Friday noon attendance is high, a first visit runs more smoothly on another day. Shoes come off at the entrance, women cover their hair, clothes should cover shoulders and legs. A separate area is provided for women. Quiet is expected from the door.

Other mosques in Strasbourg

Nearby are Al Fateh Mosque and Al Imane Mosque in Cronenbourg, An-Nour Mosque on Rue des Petites Fermes and Salam Mosque on Rue d'Ostwald in Koenigshoffen. The Neudorf mosques (Al Ihsane, Semerkand, Selimiye, Dar Al Arqam, Eyyub-Sultan) and Robertsau Mosque complete the Strasbourg network.
