Al Imane Mosque lies in the Cronenbourg district of Strasbourg. It serves as a local prayer venue for residents of Cronenbourg and the neighbouring parts of Koenigshoffen. It holds the five daily prayers and Friday prayer.

Getting there

Cronenbourg tram stop, on line A, is a few minutes on foot. Line A directly serves Strasbourg central station in about ten minutes. CTS buses 4, 19 and 50 serve the area. By car, the A351 Cronenbourg exit and Route d'Oberhausbergen lead to the district, with street parking available nearby.

The neighbourhood

Cronenbourg is a former working-class district, long shaped by the Kronenbourg breweries and by the industrial fabric of north-western Strasbourg. It is now a mix of refurbished housing estates, older houses and recent developments around the university campus. Halal shops, butchers and grocers cluster along Route d'Oberhausbergen and Avenue Racine. Parc de la Bergerie and the banks of the Aar offer green spaces enjoyed by families.

Practical advice for a visit

The hall is mid-sized, suited to neighbourhood life. Friday noon attendance fills the venue, a first visit runs more smoothly on another day. Shoes come off at the entrance, women cover their hair, clothes should cover shoulders and legs. A separate area is provided for women. Quiet is expected from the door.

Other mosques in Strasbourg

A few minutes away are Al Fateh Mosque, also in Cronenbourg, An-Nour Mosque on Rue des Petites Fermes in Koenigshoffen and Salam Mosque on Rue d'Ostwald. Hautepierre Mosque covers the neighbouring district to the west. The Strasbourg Mosque on Rue Averroès is reachable by tram in about twenty minutes. To the north, Robertsau Mosque serves the northern side of the city.
