Getting there
Ducs d'Alsace tram stop, on line F, is about ten minutes on foot. CTS buses 4, 19 and 50 serve Route des Romains and Rue des Petites Fermes. From Strasbourg central station, line F reaches Koenigshoffen in about fifteen minutes. By car, the A351 Poteries exit then Route des Romains lead to the district. Street parking is available nearby.
The neighbourhood
Koenigshoffen is a former suburb west of Strasbourg, known for its Roman remains and for the ancient road that crossed the district. Route des Romains, its main artery, keeps a fabric mixing small shops, brasseries, grocers and associations. Halal butchers and oriental shops are numerous along Route des Romains and Rue Herrade. Parc des Romains and the banks of the Bruche offer green spaces a few minutes away.
Practical advice for a visit
The hall is suited to neighbourhood life. Friday noon attendance fills the venue, a first visit runs more smoothly on another day. Shoes come off at the entrance, women cover their hair, clothes should cover shoulders and legs. A separate area is provided for women. Quiet is expected from the door.
