Eyyub-Sultan Mosque

Eyyub-Sultan Mosque lies in the Neudorf district of Strasbourg, run by the community of Turkish origin. It holds the five daily prayers, Friday prayer and runs educational activities around the Quran school and Arabic and Turkish classes.

Getting there

Étoile Polygone tram stop, on lines C, E and F, is about ten minutes on foot. Kibitzenau stop, on line C, is also nearby. CTS buses L1, 14 and 24 serve the area. From Strasbourg central station, a tram connection reaches Neudorf in about fifteen minutes. By car, the A35 Étoile exit leads directly to the district.

The neighbourhood

Neudorf is the large district south of the Ill, dense, working-class and deeply transformed by the Deux-Rives and Presqu'île Malraux projects. The Turkish association network is long-established and active there. Halal shops, butchers, oriental grocers and Turkish restaurants are numerous along Route de Colmar, Rue du Neudorf and Route du Polygone. Parc du Heyritz and the banks of the Ill offer green breaks a few minutes away.

Practical advice for a visit

The hall is suited to neighbourhood life. Friday noon attendance fills the venue, a first visit runs more smoothly on another day. Shoes come off at the entrance, women cover their hair, clothes should cover shoulders and legs. A separate area is provided for women. Educational activities follow the school calendar.

The Strasbourg Mosque on Rue Averroès is reachable by direct tram. Neuhof Mosque on Rue de Sarlat covers the neighbouring district to the south. The mosques of Cronenbourg, Hautepierre and Koenigshoffen serve the western side of the city.
