Dar Al Arqam Mosque

Dar Al Arqam Mosque is at 5 rue du Maquis, in the Neudorf district of Strasbourg. It is a local prayer venue for residents of south-eastern Neudorf and holds the five daily prayers and Friday prayer.

Getting there

Kibitzenau tram stop, on line C, is about ten minutes on foot. Lines A and D at Étoile Polygone are reached in a fifteen-minute walk. CTS buses L1, 14 and 24 serve the area. From Strasbourg central station, line C directly serves Neudorf in about fifteen minutes. By car, the A35 Étoile exit and Route du Polygone lead to the district.

The neighbourhood

Rue du Maquis sits in the eastern part of Neudorf, between the Deux-Rives project and Route du Polygone. The district combines small older buildings, more recent developments and a dense commercial fabric. Halal butchers, grocers and restaurants are numerous along Route de Colmar, Route du Polygone and Rue du Neudorf. Parc du Heyritz, the Austerlitz basin and the new Deux-Rives developments offer pleasant pedestrian paths a few minutes away.

Practical advice for a visit

The hall is modest in size, suited to neighbourhood life. Friday noon attendance fills the venue, a first visit runs more smoothly on another day. Shoes come off at the entrance, women cover their hair, clothes should cover shoulders and legs. A separate area is provided for women. Quiet is expected from the door.
