Mosquée Omar is the main Muslim place of worship in Liévin. It welcomes worshippers for the five daily prayers and for the Friday prayer, and also runs an Arabic language and religious sciences school outside prayer times.
Getting there
The mosque is located on rue Henri Martin, a few minutes from the centre of Liévin. Liévin railway station, on the Lens-Béthune line, is nearby and the Tadao bus network serves the neighbourhood. By car, access is via the A21 motorway through the Liévin-centre exit.

The hall is busy at prayer times, so a first visit is easier outside Friday noon and outside Ramadan Tarawih night prayers. Shoes come off before entering the prayer hall, clothing should cover shoulders and legs, and women cover their hair. Quiet is expected as soon as you step inside.
