Mosquée Al Fath is one of the two Muslim places of worship in Avion, in the Lens basin. It welcomes worshippers for the five daily prayers and for the Friday prayer.
Getting there
The mosque is located on rue Victor Hugo, in central Avion. It is served by the Tadao bus network and lies a few minutes by car from Lens station, which provides access to TER Hauts-de-France trains. From the A21 motorway, the Avion exit gives direct access.
The neighbourhood
The centre of Avion still bears the traces of its mining past with its miners' cottages and working-class housing fabric. Halal shops, butchers and grocers are accessible in Avion itself as well as in the nearby centres of Lens and Liévin. The town is crossed by the mining ring road linking the whole basin.

The hall serves a local community and the atmosphere is family-oriented. A first visit is easier outside Friday noon and outside Ramadan Tarawih night prayers. Shoes come off before entering the prayer hall, clothing should cover shoulders and legs, and women cover their hair. Quiet is expected as soon as you step inside.
