Dar Es-Salam Mosque

The Dar Es-Salam Mosque is the main Muslim place of worship in Aubagne, set on Chemin du Merlançon in the southern part of the commune. It welcomes the faithful for the five daily prayers, the Friday prayer, and serves as a gathering place for religious festivals for families across the Huveaune valley.

Getting there

Aubagne is served by the Marseille to Toulon TER line, with the central station about twenty minutes from Marseille Saint-Charles. From the station, the Aubagne tramway and local buses reach the town centre, then a bus or a car is needed for Chemin du Merlançon, as the mosque is not downtown. By car, the A50 reaches Aubagne in about twenty minutes from Marseille outside rush hour.

The neighbourhood

The southern part of Aubagne mixes residential detached-house areas, apartment blocks and small industrial zones. The town was deeply marked by its pottery and roof-tile industry in the 19th and 20th centuries, several converted sites of which are still visible.
