Salle Mossa, also known as Mosquée de Seclin, is located in Seclin, in the southern part of the Métropole Européenne de Lille. It is the main Muslim prayer venue listed in the town and welcomes worshippers for the five daily prayers.

Getting there

Seclin is served by the Seclin regional railway station on the Lille-Douai line, which reaches central Lille in about fifteen minutes. Several bus lines round out the network to neighbouring towns and to Porte des Postes metro station in Lille. By car, access is via the N41 and A1, with nearby street parking available.

The neighbourhood

Seclin retains a historic centre marked by its Saint-Piat collegiate church and several older buildings. The urban fabric combines townhouses, small apartment buildings and more recent residential areas. Local shops, bakeries and grocers can be reached on foot in the town centre. The town also has a local hospital and several business parks.

Practical advice for a visit

The venue mainly serves the local community and the atmosphere is family-oriented. A first visit is easier outside Friday noon and outside Ramadan Tarawih night prayers. Shoes come off before entering the prayer hall, clothing should cover shoulders and legs, and women cover their hair. Quiet is expected as soon as you step inside.

Nearby mosques

Mosquée Al Amal in Wattignies is around ten minutes away by car. The mosques of central Lille, particularly Mosquée Al Imane on rue de Marquillies and Mosquée Badr on rue d'Arras, are less than twenty minutes away. Mosquée de Loos, midway, is also a convenient option for worshippers in the southern metropolitan area.
