Services and accessibility

  • Mixed prayer hall

Mosquée El-Houda is located at 386 rue de l'Arbrisseau in southern Lille. It welcomes worshippers for the five daily prayers as well as for the Friday prayer. The hall is unisex, with dedicated areas for women and men.

Getting there

Rue de l'Arbrisseau is a few minutes on foot from Wattignies-Grand Sud metro station (line 1). From Lille Flandres, line 1 serves the area in about fifteen minutes. Several bus lines round out the network. By car, access is via the N356 and boulevard Hoover, with reasonably accessible street parking.

The neighbourhood

Southern Lille combines renewed housing estates, recent buildings and small workers' houses, in a fabric deeply reshaped by urban renewal projects. Halal shops, butchers and grocers can be reached on foot around rue d'Arras. The neighbouring town of Wattignies also offers several local shops.

Practical advice for a visit

The hall welcomes both local residents and worshippers coming from the southern metropolitan area. A first visit is easier outside Friday noon and outside Ramadan Tarawih night prayers. Shoes come off before entering the prayer hall, clothing should cover shoulders and legs, and women cover their hair.

Other mosques in Lille

Mosquée Badr on rue d'Arras, Mosquée Al Imane on rue de Marquillies, Mosquée Fraternité on rue Malsence, Mosquée Es-Salam on rue Jean Jaurès and Mosquée Assounna on rue Jean du Solier are among the main options in southern Lille. Mosquée Al Amal in Wattignies and Mosquée de Loos round out the offering in the southern metropolitan area.
