Mosquée Al Amal is located at 217 rue Clemenceau in Wattignies, in the southern part of the Métropole Européenne de Lille. It is the main Muslim prayer venue listed in the town and holds the five daily prayers as well as the Friday prayer.

Getting there

Wattignies is served by several bus lines connecting it to Lille and to the Porte des Postes and CHU-Eurasanté metro stations (line 1). From central Lille the journey by public transport takes around twenty minutes. By car the town is reached via the N41 and N356, with street parking available near the mosque on rue Clemenceau.

The neighbourhood

Rue Clemenceau is one of the main streets of Wattignies. It runs through a residential area mixing detached houses and small apartment buildings, and gathers several local shops. The town retains a semi-urban character, with several green spaces just minutes from the mosque.

Practical advice for a visit

Friday noon draws a larger crowd, including worshippers working in the nearby Eurasanté business park. Other prayers are quieter. Shoes come off before entering the prayer hall and clothing should cover shoulders and legs. Women cover their hair and a dedicated area is provided for them.

Other mosques in the southern metropolitan area

Wattignies currently has only this listing. The closest mosques are in Lille, in the Lille-Sud and Faches-Thumesnil districts, less than ten minutes away by car. Salle Mossa in Seclin is also reachable in around fifteen minutes via the N41. The main mosques of central Lille remain within twenty minutes by public transport.
