Arrahma Mosque

Arrahma Mosque is located north of Nantes, in the Nantes-Erdre area, away from the historic centre. It welcomes worshippers from the north of the city for the five daily prayers and Friday prayer.

Getting there

TAN tram line 2 serves Nantes-Erdre with the Recteur Schmitt and Facultés stops, about ten minutes on foot from the mosque. Busway line 4, at the Foch Cathédrale stop, offers a connection from the city centre. Chronobus lines C1 and C6 complete the grid towards the neighbouring districts. By car, access from the ring road exit 42 is via route de la Chapelle-sur-Erdre, with on-street parking available in the surrounding residential streets.

The neighbourhood

Nantes-Erdre is a residential district in the north of the commune, marked by the Tertre and Lombarderie university campuses, 1970s housing blocks and scattered single-family homes along the banks of the Erdre. The Grand Blottereau park, a few minutes away, offers a large green space. Halal butchers and Middle-Eastern grocers are present around Talensac market in the centre and along route de Rennes.

Practical advice for a visit

The hall serves a wide community and fills up quickly at Friday noon. A first visit runs more smoothly on another day, at weekday prayers. Shoes come off at the entrance, women cover their hair, clothes should cover shoulders and legs. An area is provided for women. Quiet is expected from the door.
