Preux Mosque

Preux Mosque is located in the Preux district, in western Saint-Herblain, supported by the Muslim Association of Saint-Herblain. It serves the surrounding residential and low-density areas for the five daily prayers and Friday prayer.

Getting there

TAN bus line 71 serves Preux with several stops a few minutes on foot from the mosque. Tram line 1, at the Frachon or Ferrière stop, offers an alternative from the Nantes centre, complemented by bus line 71 for the last leg. Line 91 serves the district from Bellevue and Bouguenais. By car, access from the ring road exit 34 is via route de Vannes then rue des Renards, with plenty of on-street parking available in the surrounding residential streets.

The neighbourhood

Preux is a residential district in western Saint-Herblain, mostly single-family homes with a few recent multi-family schemes. The area features a low-density fabric, local sports and school amenities, and quick access to the Atlantis shopping centre and the ring road. Halal butchers and Middle-Eastern grocers are present in the neighbouring Bellevue and Sillon de Bretagne districts.

Practical advice for a visit

The hall is attended by a local community attached to the project. Friday noon quickly fills the venue, a first visit runs more smoothly on another day, at weekday prayers. Shoes come off at the entrance, women cover their hair, clothes should cover shoulders and legs. An area is provided for women. Quiet is expected from the door.

Other mosques in Saint-Herblain and around

Sillon de Bretagne Mosque, in northern Saint-Herblain, rounds out the local offer. The Nantes-Bellevue mosques, Fathi Mosque, Mevlana Mosque, the Turkish Mosque and Aicha Mosque, are reachable in about fifteen minutes via bus line 71 or tram line 1. Assalam Mosque east of Nantes and Arrahma Mosque to the north are further away.
