Getting there
La Cayolle lies in the southern hills of Marseille, between the Calanques and Sormiou. Buses are the usual way to reach the estate, with RTM lines running from Rond-Point du Prado, the southern terminus of metro line 2. By car, access is via Boulevard Michelet then the road to Sormiou, with parking on the estate's inner streets.
The neighbourhood
La Cayolle is a former transit estate that has become a residential district in the southern hills. Its history is marked by the successive arrivals of repatriates from Algeria and then families from the Maghreb. The estate stretches to the edge of the Calanques National Park, with open views on the surrounding hills. Local shops and a few halal butchers are found in the neighbourhood and on the way back towards Mazargues and Bonneveine.

The hall serves a local community and the atmosphere is family-oriented. A first visit is easier on a weekday, outside Friday noon and outside Ramadan Tarawih night prayers.
