Getting there
TAG tram line A serves the Villeneuve with the Arlequin and La Bruyère stops, a few minutes on foot from the mosque. Line C, at Grand'Place, is a second option. TAG bus lines C2 and 12 complete the grid towards southern Grenoble and Échirolles. By car, the southern ring road Villeneuve exit is closest, with on-street parking available in the residential streets.
The neighbourhood
La Villeneuve of Grenoble is an emblematic 1970s housing estate, undergoing an urban renewal programme for the past fifteen years. The Baladins and Arlequin sector gathers most of the amenities, including the Maison des Habitants and Jean Verlhac park, one of the largest urban parks in the city. The hall is modest in size, sized for local attendance. Friday noon quickly fills the venue, a first visit runs more smoothly on another day. Shoes come off at the entrance, women cover their hair, clothes should cover shoulders and legs. An area is provided for women. Quiet is expected from the door.
