A mosque of southern Créteil

Créteil and its Muslim community
Créteil is the prefecture of Val-de-Marne, a commune of around ninety-three thousand inhabitants immediately south-east of Paris. The local Muslim community is large and diverse, with North African, West African and Turkish roots. Several other associative rooms exist in Créteil and in the neighbouring communes of Maisons-Alfort, Alfortville and Saint-Maur-des-Fossés.
Access and transport
Metro line 8 serves the town with the Créteil-Préfecture, Créteil-Université and Pointe du Lac stations, connecting the town centre to Bastille in about thirty minutes. The future metro line 15 South of the Grand Paris Express, with the Créteil-L'Échat station, will significantly improve the town's accessibility. A dense bus network completes local coverage.
Advice for visitors
As in any place of worship, appropriate dress is expected, and shoes must be removed before entering the prayer hall. Friday prayer and major religious holidays attract large crowds; arriving early is recommended.
