Getting there
TAG tram line E serves Saint-Martin-le-Vinoux with the Casamaures - Village stop, about ten minutes on foot from the mosque. TAG bus lines C1 and 20 complete the grid towards Grenoble, Le Fontanil and Saint-Égrève. By car, the A48 Saint-Martin-le-Vinoux exit and the RN481 are nearby, with on-street parking available in the surrounding residential streets.
The neighbourhood
Rue du Petit Lac is located in the south of Saint-Martin-le-Vinoux, between the first slopes of the Néron mountain and the border with Grenoble. The area combines detached-house housing, small apartment blocks and recent developments along the tram line. Halal butchers and Middle-Eastern grocers are mainly found in the neighbouring Porte de France district of Grenoble, a few tram minutes away. The Casamaures estate and the trails of the Néron offer walking spots nearby.
Practical advice for a visit
The hall is modest in size, sized for local attendance. Friday noon quickly fills the venue, a first visit runs more smoothly on another day. Shoes come off at the entrance, women cover their hair, clothes should cover shoulders and legs. An area is provided for women. Quiet is expected from the door.
