Clémence Center is a Muslim prayer venue located in the Franklin-Fridolin district of Mulhouse. It welcomes residents of the area for the five daily prayers and Friday prayer, in a local hall at the heart of a working-class neighbourhood in the city centre.
Getting there
Franklin tram stop, on lines 1 and 3, is less than five minutes away on foot. The Soléa bus lines that cross the area connect directly to Mulhouse-Ville station in about ten minutes. By car, the A35 Île Napoléon exit is nearby, with street parking available in the surrounding streets but limited during the day.
The neighbourhood
Franklin is a working-class district in the north of central Mulhouse, with a very dense commercial fabric around Place de la Concorde and Rue de la Sinne. Halal butchers, Middle-Eastern grocers, barbershops and restaurants line a handful of streets, forming one of the liveliest shopping hubs in the city. As-Salam Mosque is also located in the district, a few minutes away on foot.
Practical advice for a visit
The hall is modest in size. Friday noon attendance fills the venue, a first visit runs more smoothly on another day. Shoes come off at the entrance, women cover their hair, clothes should cover shoulders and legs. A separate area is provided for women. Quiet is expected from the door.
Other mosques in Mulhouse
