Getting there
Rue Archimède is a few minutes on foot from Roubaix-Charles de Gaulle metro station (line 2), which reaches Lille Flandres in around twenty minutes. The Lille-Tourcoing tramway also serves central Roubaix. Several bus lines round out the network. By car, access is straightforward from the A22.
The neighbourhood
The area around rue Archimède lies close to central Roubaix, in a mainly residential and shopping fabric. Brick townhouses dominate, with a few more recent developments. Halal shops, butchers and grocers are spread along rue de l'Alma and around Grand-Place, a few minutes on foot.
Practical advice for a visit
The venue mainly serves the local community and the atmosphere is family-oriented. A first visit is easier outside Friday noon and outside Ramadan Tarawih night prayers. Shoes come off before entering the prayer hall, clothing should cover shoulders and legs, and women cover their hair. Quiet is expected as soon as you step inside.
