Contact and services

Address
7 rue Honoré, 93500 Pantin

The Pantin Fraternity Cultural Association runs its prayer room at 7 Rue Honoré, in the Quatre-Chemins district, right on the border with Aubervilliers. It first serves a neighbourhood community, built over several generations by Maghrebi, sub-Saharan African and South Asian families settled in this working-class inner suburb of north-eastern Paris.

Getting there

Aubervilliers-Pantin Quatre Chemins station (line 7) is under five minutes away on foot. Line 5 serves Hoche and Église de Pantin, fifteen minutes away on foot. Tramway T3b reaches Porte de Pantin, twenty minutes on foot or ten by bus. RER E stops at Pantin station, fifteen minutes away. Buses 249 and 330 run along the Honoré-Josserand axis.

The neighbourhood

Quatre-Chemins, straddling Pantin and Aubervilliers, is one of the most densely populated districts in the Paris region. A nineteenth-century industrial suburb, it has kept a tight fabric of narrow streets and small working-class buildings. Food shops, grocers, halal butchers and street restaurants are everywhere. Urban renewal over the past twenty years mostly touches the edges of the district, leaving the old core largely intact.

Practical advice for a visit

The place serves its worshippers first. A first visit is easier outside Friday noon and outside Ramadan Tarawih night prayers, when the hall is full. Shoes come off before entering, women cover their hair, and clothes should cover shoulders and legs. Quiet is expected as soon as you step inside.

Other mosques in Pantin and Paris

Pantin has another listed prayer room close by, the Friendly League of Cultures and Scientific Research, a few streets away on Rue Gabrielle Josserand. On the Paris side, Adda'Wa Mosque in the 19th is fifteen minutes away on line 5, and Fraternity Mosque near Porte d'Aubervilliers is reached on line 7. The Sociocultural Institute of Muslims, in the 18th, completes the north-eastern Paris network.
