Getting there
TAG tram line A has its southern terminus at Denis Papin, on the border with Échirolles, about fifteen minutes on foot from the mosque. TAG bus lines C7 and 17 serve the centre of Le Pont-de-Claix and connect to Échirolles, Grenoble and Vizille. Le Pont-de-Claix station, a short distance away, handles regional TER services on the Grenoble-Gap line. By car, the A480 Pont-de-Claix exit is nearby, with on-street parking available in the residential streets.
The neighbourhood
Avenue Victor Hugo structures the centre of Le Pont-de-Claix, between place Michel Couëtoux and the Basse Vigne district. The area combines a town core rebuilt in the 1960s-70s, local shops and municipal amenities. Halal butchers and Middle-Eastern grocers are mainly found along avenue Victor Hugo and around the town centre market. Borel park and the banks of the Drac river offer walking spots a few minutes away.
Practical advice for a visit
The hall is modest in size, sized for local attendance. Friday noon quickly fills the venue, a first visit runs more smoothly on another day. Shoes come off at the entrance, women cover their hair, clothes should cover shoulders and legs. An area is provided for women. Quiet is expected from the door.
