Illzach is a commune of Haut-Rhin located in the first northern ring of Mulhouse, within the m2A urban area. With around 15,000 inhabitants, it borders Mulhouse to the south, Sausheim to the east and Kingersheim to the north, and has one listed Muslim prayer venue serving worshippers from the town and neighbouring districts.

The commune combines older residential streets in the historic core with the housing blocks of the Jonquilles district. Local shops, halal butchers and grocers are accessible in the town centre and in the Île Napoléon retail area, one of the largest shopping hubs in Alsace. Parc des Chênes and the banks of the Ill river offer green spaces valued by residents.
