Mosques in Illzach

Illzach is a commune of Haut-Rhin located in the first northern ring of Mulhouse, within the m2A urban area. With around 15,000 inhabitants, it borders Mulhouse to the south, Sausheim to the east and Kingersheim to the north, and has one listed Muslim prayer venue serving worshippers from the town and neighbouring districts.

Al Houda Mosque is the Muslim place of worship listed in the commune. It holds the five daily prayers and Friday prayer. Residents looking for other prayer venues will find, a few minutes away, the mosques of Mulhouse, in particular Koba Mosque in Bourtzwiller to the south, Annour Center near Coteaux, or As-Salam Mosque and Clémence Center in the Franklin district.

Public transport access

Illzach is served by tram line 3 of the Soléa network, connecting the commune directly to central Mulhouse and its TGV station in about fifteen minutes. Several bus lines complete the local grid towards Kingersheim, Sausheim and Wittenheim. By car, the A35 motorway is immediately nearby with the Île Napoléon and Kingersheim exits, and the A36 is accessible to the south.

Local context

Illzach retains an industrial fabric marked by the historical presence of the Île Napoléon petrochemical complex and by the neighbouring car plants in Sausheim. The commune combines older residential streets in the historic core with the housing blocks of the Jonquilles district. Local shops, halal butchers and grocers are accessible in the town centre and in the Île Napoléon retail area, one of the largest shopping hubs in Alsace. Parc des Chênes and the banks of the Ill river offer green spaces valued by residents.
